Stupid questions
My glove box light will not turn off.
I have the aftermarket dash cap that is likely the culprit, because the glove box door doesn't reach the plunger switch. I currently have a washer held in by duct tape over the switch. Short of making a piece that I would glue or fasten to the door to reach the switch, is there an easy fix for this? Also, my left turn signal indicator light on the dash is apparently burned out (right one works). (I've verified that the external turn signal lights operate as they should) Is there an easy way to reach and replace this bulb without removing the dash? Annoyingly little things I know, but still annoying.

find a rubber cap to put over the plunger.maybe a piece of vacuum hose would work as well.

If you're good, you can get your hand up there and snatch that bulb out. Turns a little one way and comes out in its holder. You will get cut up some. If you have the plastic trim/vent below the dash/steering column, can make it easier to remove that. Beware, test the bulb when out, a lot of times it's a bad connection with the brittle flexible circuit and not the bulb itself, or a ground issue. You're likely not changing that flexible circuit with the dash in.

Small piece of hose over the plunger works perfect as a temp fix,and ya can keep the light working.

Why not use a vacuum cap, it will make it all black.

Agreed. I've fixed this problem before with a small vacuum cap. It looks
like the factory did it and solves the problem. On the cars I've had to do this on they had a Just Dashes reskinned dash where they didn't strip off the old vinyl but went right over the top with another layer of vinyl. The extra thickness won't allow the glove box to turn off without a vacuum cap on the plunger. Anyone out there that sends your dash to Just Dashes you should insist that the old vinyl be removed. |

I had the exact problem with my glove box lamp switch, I elected for the bulb removal option until I get just dashes onto the problem!
