If you could own 1 Muscle Car from each brand.....

1. You got to have the original Muscle Car - the 1964 Pontiac GTO Convertible with the Royal Bobcat treatment (421/Milt tuned)

2. The first year 1968 Hurst Olds 442 455

3. The 1970 Buick GSX 455

4. The 1970 Chevelle LS6 SS454

5. The 1969 Mercury Cyclone Cobra 428

6. The 1969 Ford Fairlane Cobra 428

7. The 1968 Plymouth Road Runner with the Hemi

8. The 1968 Dodge Coronet Super Bee with the Hemi

9. The 1969 Hurst SC/Rambler

Sorry, Chrysler/Lincoln/Cadillac never made a Muscle Car...

Should the debate begin as to what constitutes a muscle car?

Pontiac- 61-62 Catalina SD car
Chevrolet - 65 chevelle
Ford - 63.5 galaxie r code
Buick - GS stage 1

The others I would have to think about and edit in later. Chevrolet I would much prefer a first gen z28 but I'm in the "those are pony cars" camp. I suppose the galaxie and Catalina are questionable in the other direction. We all take liberties I guess.

The LS6 wasn't available in the Corvette until 1971. it had aluminum heads and was rated at 425 hp.

WOW ! Just thinkin about all the great Musclecars gives me a thrill. It was such a great time to be young car guy, back in those days. I can still remember all the great parade of cars that circled the "loop" in our little town. Camaros, Mustangs, SS Chevelles, Hemi cars, 440 Cudas & Challengers, 442's, Buick 455's, and of course Birds and Goats.

Yep, I can remember sitting at the North end of the popular loop, in the bowling alley parking lot, in my Dad's old V6 GMC pickup, listening to the latest rock 'n roll hits on our local AM radio station, watching the parade of great cars go by. When the law wasn't lookin, some of 'em would burn a little rubber goin back up the hill from the bowling alley bottom. And I would look forward to the day when I would be one of those cool guys, driving a cool car, snatchin on a 4-speed and burnin rubber. And thank God, that day came ! Yeah, it was GREAT !

It's really hard to choose just a few favorites, cause there were so many. So, I'll have to do it in more than one post. Ya'll will just have to forgive me, OK.

I'll have to agree with some of the other guys and go with a '70 455 Stage 1 Buick. For a Full size Chevy, I'll go with a '62 Impala SS 409. Of course, all these cars will have a 4-speed stick. For a full size Dodge, I'll go with a '67 Hemi Coronet R/T. For my 1st Ford, I'll go with a '67 Fairlane 427. If the pics and my descriptions don't match up, please forgive. I Googled the pics real quick, so I may not have gotten the exact pics I wanted. Hey, that's enuff for my 1st post.

Pontiac: 1969 Trans Am convertible, Ram IV 4-spd (yeah, I know they didn't make them).
AMC: 1970 AMX in Big Bad Orange (they really called it that) with the Go Package
Buick: 1965 Buick Riviera GS, 425 dual quad, in maroon (I had a silver 1964 dual quad car)
Chevy: 1970 Corvette LS6 roadster, blue 4-spd
Oldsmobile: 1970 442 Indy Pace car, white 4-spd
Dodge: 1970 Hemi Challenger convertible
Plymouth: 1970 Hemi Superbird, in Vitamin C orange with 4-spd

In general, I like big blocks, convertible, and 4-spds. If anybody is giving these away, I'm negotiable on colors.
