Hi all,

I decided it made sense to replace the fuel and return lines on my '67 convertible with stainless replacements. I'm doing the tank as well so it will soob have an entirely new fuel system.

I have seen mixed opinions on whether the lines can be replaced without raising the body off the frame. Can it be done without separating the body?

I replaced mine while the body was off. I don't see how they can be replaced with the body on.

Thanks...I was somehow able to do it with the body on on my '65, but that was years ago....

I remeber now that I tried to do it on the 65 I owned before and ended up breaking the line when I tried to bow it enough to go through the frame. I cut it and put a union in.

Gotcha. Were you able to route it at the rear with the body on? I remember snaking it through the front frame rail was NOT fun.

After I cut it in two pieces I was able to work it through if I remember correctly. That was about 12 years ago.

I used an length of fuel line on the end to get that through the frame and pull the metal through. Made it much easier, but I still wouldn't want to try it with the body on. Maybe if it's picked up about 8" or so.....

Front was not a prob for me, but I had to tweak my nicely-bent tubing over the rear and the rebend as best as I could. Turned out ok, but would be nicer if there was more vertical clearance.

Thanks George. Sounds like my experience too! I will try to install these lines over the weekend; wish me luck.
