How are the reproduction lenses for the 67 GTO tail lights.

Nothing wrong with them. They fit like originals and the red tint is no different.
I have read where some say they look not as dark red as originals. I see no, difference. They were repopped by The Parts place.
I got them from either PY or Ames years ago.

X2. I put them in my restoration and am very pleased with them. If there is any negative point it would be that the stainless trim strips have sharp edges and may cut you or catch a cloth and pull loose. And, if you get repop gaskets they can be a little hard to install.

I too got these taillights and returned the first set after the stainless was falling off. After the same thing started happening on the second set I removed the dangerously sharp stainless and reused the original stainless from my factory taillights (it is different with a finished edge that can't cut you). Now I have new taillights that have the original stainless and you can't tell they're not original unless you look for "The Parts Place" stamping. OH...and I no longer have to worry about slicing my fingers while wiping dust from the lenses.

Is there a trick to removing the stainless trim? I have some beautiful lenses with dented up trim and cracked lenses with perfect trim…I'm afraid that I'll crack the nice lenses trying to pry the trim off…

Removing the trim is a destructive process(to the old lens...comes off real easy on the repos)so I wouldn't try this with a good set of taillights. Mine were trashed so it didn't matter if I broke the plastic. Once the trim was removed I "picked and filed" until all dings were removed and then polished all the way to 2500 and presto beautiful "new" trim. Now you have to glue the trim on the taillight. Once glued I used a couple of clamps and a piece of plywood the same size as the lens/trim and waited 24 hrs before removing. I can get the name of the glue I used. You can peel off any "extra" AFTER it dries.
