Default Wrong motor mount brackets?

Still plugging along on my motor swap project. I'm sticking my old 400 bracket motor into my previously SBC powered 81 T/A. I am now concerned I have the wrong motor mount brackets for the engine as these brackets don't fit well at all in the motor mounts I picked up this morning. The motor mounts I just got align in the frame holes perfectly but don't line up with the engine brackets. The SBC mounts line up perfectly in the engine brackets but not the frame. I tried to compare the mount brackets with my 78 T/A and it "seems" that the brackets in the T/A are a little shorter and have a different mount end on them.

On the top of the engine bracket there should be a little letter stamped into it. Firebird mounts should be stamped "F". The brackets you have seem awefully tell. I have big body mounts in the garage. I'll go look at them and post a pic on a mount if I can to compare to yours. Can you see the stamp code on the engine bracket? They look very similliar

Yeah, those don't look like the f body block mounts. Do they have a part number or like Honey hush said a letter stamped in the top? I'll look and see if I have another set of brackets left.

These are from a 78 TA I used to own. I think these are what you are looking for. Don't know why the pics are upside down.

Here is the driver side mount, from the center of the top mount hole to the center of the thru bolt hole is 3 3/8 inches. I scrubbed it pretty good and there seems to be no part number engraved in it.

going from eye sight I have a feeling those brackets are for a B or G body, not an F-Body. where did you get them? if they were on the original engine, what is the date/engine code on it?

I just took a look at mine and I have the same numbers as STEELCITYFIREBIRD. mine came from a 1979 301 Firebird.

I had the hardest time getting F body Pontiac mounts. I wound up with 3 pairs of random Poncho mounts before I got the correct ones.
