It's time to pursue some valves for a 230 1BBL head that is headed to the shop.
I thought I would have some Stainless Intake valves made up by Manley.
There should be a modest gain over factory intake valve flow, the exhaust side will have OEM valves as exhaust usually finds it's way out OK.
Pricing seems to be around 17-19 bucks each & to get a volume price seems a little out of reach. How many of you might want a set? My plan is to lower the keeper notches a few thou to leave room for any needed refinishing of the tips.
The head that Whitmore did years ago for me ran about a K with P&L, thinking those days are far behind us!

Are the '66 and '67 1bbl heads the same in regard to valve stem length?

SI Vavles has a very good replacement valve for the OHC.

It is a Ford valve with enough room to adjust for valve stem height.

Call them and they will know what you want.

"SI valves are from China they were called shin ichi but remarketed to si they are good for mild performance the exhaust wont tulip because they are austinitic stainless to withstand the heat like most valves including oem but the inlets are soft pretty well known fact but not a bad valve if used in the right application"

I have twelve of them in my dual turbocharged engine so I hope they last.

One can always buy Manley SS valve blanks and cut them to length and put the grooves where you need them.
