Was wondering how easy it would be to grind out my old bucket seat brackets, due to two stripped studs, and re-weld new ones in without damaging my floor boards.

Has anyone attempted this and if so how hard was it?

yeah..thats gonna be a fire...a big one.

i guess you cant get the seat out?

i feel comfortable grinding the nut off from the bottom

pull the seat out...remove the tracks and then weld the stud in your in total control...ive seen more interior fires than any one should..skilled seasoned bodymen...and when you realize its a problem..its usually too late.

The seats come out real easy. The problem is I can't tighten the nuts. I shouldn't have said the threads are stripped. Actually the threads are almost non existent towards the bottom where they would bottom up against the seat frame. I tried to re-tap the threads but there just isn't enough meat there. I plan to replace the carpeting at the same time so there shouldn't be a fire risk with everything removed.

Found out my seats were actually bolted to the floor pan.....had new seat brackets welded in.....shouldn't be a problem since you're replacing carpet.
