aftermarket radiator
Posted this in heating and cooling but no answers as yet,
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301544147...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT So, thinking about going to a alloy radiator with twin fans and shroud, like the one in the link. My question is once I remove the factory fan shroud, how does the after market radiator sit at the bottom as the factory shroud holds the Radiator Support Cushion Insulators.

Do u mean top or bottom? ....ive got that same Champion radiator and fan set up. not fully fitted as yet. i am not as concerned with the lower mount as mine are secured into the lower section of the rad support. Its the top where the shroud supports the cushions that i have concerns as i will not be using the factory shroud..
I am fabbing up a bracket atm to support the top, will be chromed ultimately. Dave

Hi Dave, yea, I do actually wonder about top and bottom. My factory shroud holds both in position, how did you mount to the bottom of the rad support?
Would you have a pic handy. I'm not sure which way to go yet, if to hard I'll stick with the factory setup.

Ok, so here we go. Hope it helps.
1st pic shows lower insulator on the Rad Support     AS you can see i have a reproduction Rad Support, I was going to remove the extra trailing edge it has, but it will be handy for mounting the Radiator  Its not finished yet, but this will be the bracket that secures the top

Awesome, thanks Dave, I wonder if that bottom mount is a 68 thing, anybody know?
What's the Champion rad build like Dave?

My car came like this, i just assumed they all were. 1968 service manual shows it the same way.
The Champion Rad looks great, fully welded, polished up nicely, shoud and fans seem good too.
