Default My 40 year friend Lucy

With all these cars getting threads of their own I just felt that a car a loyal as this one has been deserves a thread too. Well today I yanked that bad sounding mini starter back out and put a stock type Delco back in. I also put on a new set of spring ring battery cables for our host Ames. Lucy seem very happy with the new parts a she fired right up without hesitation. Here's a picture of Lucy from our very first summer together.

Craig, Not many people can make that claim of owning the same car for 40 years like you. Here's to the next 40!

Congrats! Dennis

BTW, are those American A-100's (daisies)? I have a set from the old SD that are 15x7 that I want to clean and polish someday for the Formula.

Dennis those American 200s wheels look great in these cars. When I got the car it had ET slots on it but I hit a curb hard thinking I was Mario Andretti. Got a good deal on the Anericans , they are still in my garage and do make an appearance once in awhile. It's been a hoot for sure and because of it I got to meet a lot of great people including you . Mike very few others have sat in that drivers seat over the last 40+.

Maybe if I'm a good boy I can sit in the seat too? Seriously Craig, your TA is stunning and consider myself blessed to know you! I think the time I most look forward to of the year is when we all get together to cruise to the TA Nats and stop in Van Wert for pie...I'm getting misty eyed....

Craig, Forgot to mention, my American are all polished, so they are the A-100's? while the A-200's have the brushed or matt spokes? I do know that either one looks like they were meant for the 2nd gen Firebirds.

Yep one of the best times of the year. Now we need to get Sparkys car fixed quickly. He has a newly redone 455HO sitting on a stand. I would swap it with the one in the Sundance. Car. Kill 2 birds with one stone. Keep the driver drivin and give a bit more time to get the sundance engine done properly. That 71 T/A wont be seeing the road this year.

One of my best memory is picking up a 24 pack yuengling lagers in the TA at Nats. Polishing those off with some big laughs my first year.

Look forward to more!

Craig, did you need any shims on the Delco starter? I have found that mini starters usually require more than the OEM starters.
