Default cam lube

I'm going to install a solid flat tappet cam. It will probably be a few weeks from the time I install it until I can fire it up for break-in.

What should I use on the lobes and lifters that won't run off in a few weeks time? The 'red' comp lube is kinda runny. How about a 'moly' grease?

I will also be using Brad Penn 30w break-in oil, with zinc.

I put on some of the green Sealed Power assembly lube about three weeks ago ... the upside of the lobes are now actually dry. Not just without a layer of lube... they are visibly dry.
Granted this is not cam lube .... I have some CC lube now, and some of that ultra high pressure grease too ...forget what it's called .... something like CM-3. Might try that. My engine will be probably sitting for a year before startup.

Cliff ... that's what I was thinking ... why can't I just use plain old, thick moly grease ... I know for a fact that would still be there in a year.

Thanks Cliff ... you made up my mind for me .... and I think I have a tube of that right on my tractor parts shelf.
Surely a good high pressure moly grease is as good for the first 2 minutes of running as any other fancy lube. After that, it's all about the oil anyway. And yep, I have no doubt that stuff would still be there a year later.
