Forward to the end. For some reason they had a very slick track. Running in the F.A.S.T./ Factory Stock class.

I just saw a video on FB that Chris's car got rear ended in the staging lanes with a few other cars. What a shame!

According to Chris: Nine cars totaled and more to the story about what happened. Stay tuned.

I just saw the pictures over on FB. Saw Chris's car got pushed into the back of Donnie G's 10 second FAST Chevelle. Man I feel sick just seeing the pictures, can only imagine how they feel.

It's one thing to crash in the track, but to have your car wrecked in the lanes by someone f-ing around.

My understanding is that the black & grey Mustang was racing to beat the 'Vette for lane choice…

Ron was one car away from getting it. We were parked next to the Chevelle. I was standing next to it and saw it coming. I moved to the left and yelled at Ron to move. Next thing you know I saw cars hitting cars.....it was horrible. Not sure how all this is going to play out either....The guy said he is going to make it right......

my poor car I'm not a happy camper to put it mildly.

The driver/owner of the gray mustang, Chuck Watson founder of Watson Engineering and Watson Racing, has talked to the other 7 guys involved (8 cars total including the corvette and mustang which cause the chain reaction) and has vowed to make it right. Don G and I feel better as Don is taking his car to his painter and I already had the resto shop which has my W-31 contact me. I will be calling them to set up an appointment to bring the car in this week to see what needs to be done. It's not pretty. And I seriously doubt the car will be ready for the Pure Stock Drags at Stanton in 6 weeks (this REALLY pisses me off and I told that to Chuck).

The rear frame cross member is bent and I'm not sure if it got into the frame rail. I hope that NOS qtr (the sticker is still on the back from an install by a prior owner and I showed that to Chuck) can be saved. That's the original dated rear bumper with factory chrome. The tailpipe is bent and into the tire. Since it's an x-pipe exhaust the whole system is tweaked, under stress and hanging lower from the impact. I need to check the exhaust manifolds to see if they are being stressed. Driver door doesn't open. The header panel was pushed into the hood and took 30 mins to open the hood. I removed the latch and the hood pins are just holding the hood down now. Further examination earlier today, there is a dent in the front bumper which cracked the chrome. The front bumper is also tweaked good as it's into the header panel on the driver side. This makes sense as the impact was hard enough to push me into Don G's car and put a very big dent in his bumper.

So needless to say I will be looking for some parts. Off the top of my head, need a cutout rear valance and a driver tail light housing.

The Boss - thanks GAWD I didn't have the NOS Pontiac emblem on the trunklid I bought from you. It won't stay on because someone drilled the holes to high. Well, with the new trunklid that gets to go on the car now that will be fixed.

email is best if someone needs to reach me as I usually lurk on this site. grp442 at yahoo dot com

Damn, Chris- I can't even imagine the frustration you're feeling from your car getting hammered like that. I hope that Watson comes through on his promise to make it right.

Chris, just like a kick to the balls, I think the whole community collectively felt your pain. I wish your car a speedy recovery and am glad to hear that no one was seriously injured!

Thanks guys. To say this was a sh1tty weekend would be an understatement. First water in the basement friday night. Thankfully not that bad and I know where it's coming from. Then the car gets hit.

I had the Tempest out today and made a right turn on Rt. 22 in front of a Mustang. All I could think while I watched in the rear view mirror was, "Please don't Mustang me..."

Chris, if you get the repairs done in 6 months you will be in great shape.

When you get new quarter, and deck lid in place. It's time to repaint the whole enchilada. I hope Chuck will be in the mood to pay for what's needs to happen with correct parts.

Reminds me of the work done on my car recently. Insurance paid to do blending of paint not entire car.

Looking at your damage I see 15k plus to do it right. If they go by insurance value of GT-37 in 70 my guess is they pay for total loss of car?

Regardless, if you are happy with Chucks word great, if not get a lawyer.
