Default Still Available

Rear disks and related hardware are still available. They will work on nearly any 64-72 GTO or firebird. I had the on my '68 GTO.

No proportioning valve needed when converting 4 wheel drum to four wheel disk. You do need to pick up the parking brake.

I can vouch for B&W - they do excellent work on these calipers.

Default Brakes

Interested. I have a 79 axle housing in my 74 Firebird. 79 axle housing was originally drum brakes. What else would I need? 74 is originally disc/drum. Would I need a different master? Cables?

Default Rear Disk Brakes

I have a master cylinder included, and everything else is bolt on. You would need:

1.) Rear disk parking brake cables,

2.). Change the proportioning valve. (I'd suggest using an aftermarket adjustable proportioning valve.)

3.). the parking brake cable retainers that connect to the caliper from Scarebird.

That should be it.

I had the brakes on a '68 GTO that went from four wheel drum to four wheel disk, so I was OK using the stock metering block. I do not have a proportioning valve.

I just checked the Ames site and there is now a reproduction 4 wheel disk proportioning valve available. It is part FR216V and costs $69.00. (The adjustable one is 39.00.)

Default Rear Disk Brakes

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make it to POCI. How about $275.00 shipped, and we have a deal?
