Default New best last night.

Took the pile of used parts to the track last night. Only change I made was go from a 750dp to a 850 dp. The car went from a best of 7.78 to 7.57 and picked up 2 mph. The car made three passes and I also had had some good lights. So it was a good night.

Don't really have a lot af details. It was a project someone got tired of . I bought it and finished it up. here is what a can tell you.

455
6x heads
Torker 2 intake ( I had to shave 60 thousands of to get it to fit)
Hydraulic cam. I don't know the spec's.
1.65 roller rockers
Motor has been balanced .
Stock rods
Turbo 400 manual valve body and about 3400 stall
3 inch exhaust to mufflers and 2.5 tail pipes
12 bolt rear. I am guessing about a 4.11 or 4.56 gear.
I am shifting at 5200 and going through the the traps at 5400 in the 1/8

I think the converter is wrong for the car.

Congrats!

Nice pick up in ET on the carb size increase.

Try a Dominator next?

I have a 1150 and a warrior intake ! Might be a little big. I think the biggest problem right now the converter.

so I did some calculating and it looks like I have about 26% converter slippage. Not to good when it should be under 10%. The converter is also flashing around 4200. Since I am shifting at 5200 , I think it's kinda much.

What rear gear did you use to figure converter slip? And what size tires on the rear?

I used 4.11 . That is what I was told was in it. But I haven't checked it yet so I am not 100% sure. The tire is a 275 drag radial.

Gotta jack that thing up and do the drive shaft count.

What it's doing now is close to having 4.56 with 10% converter slip.

I did that and it was right at 4 . 5400 at 88 mph seems real high to me. I need to jack it up and pull the pan and count teeth.
