Default Reverse light switch connector.

Well, after ten years! I learned I did not have the backup light extension harness that goes to the connector for the reverse lights for my '67 GTO. This is the wiring that connects to the wires via a two prong perpendicular connector to the wire that comes from the reverse switch on the manual transmission. On the connecting extension harness wiring....one blue, one black, is a two prong male connector with prongs side by side. I thought this connected to a harness under the dash by the emergency brake pedal, but can not find anything. Nor did I find anything in the shop manual. Does this harness connect in the engine compartment somewhere on the firewall? Appreciate any help.

Default REVERSE LIGHTS

The below pages are from a '65 kit but will apply to the '67 as well.

It connects to the harness on the firewall. If you can't find it I could post a picture.

Default backup wires

The pink/greenish-yellow wires are from the repro backup switch from Ames and they run down to the trans. They are connected to the blue/black wires that run thru the firewall and to the dash harness. Hope this helps.

Yep. And if left unplugged by a lazy mechanic, they often burn up on the exhaust like mine was when I got it.

Yup. Did that once after putting in the trans and did not connect the wires up by the firewall. Burned them up quick.
