Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Wife isn't crazy about Turkey so I'm doing a 10lb ham.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our American friends. I'm taking the day off to watch football. We had our Thanksgiving earlier. I still vote for turkey. My favourite is cooking a massive turkey and having enough for sandwiches for the next few days.

Turkey and ham both here. I like to make turkey/gravy and have it over mashed taters and bread, a turkey manhattan if you will. Yummy!

TJ & I are havin shrimp & grits dressing. She saw the recipe online, and decided to try it. We love it. It's delicious. But, ya'll need to keep in mind that we live in Louisiana and like crawfish & boudin. So the shrimp dressing may not be for everybody.
TJ modified the recipe to make it easier(and better). For those who prefer turkey or chicken, I suppose you could sub it for the shrimp. And, you can modify the seasoning to meet your taste. The grits work great, & it's much easier than baking cornbread ahead of time, to put in the dressing. http://www.wellseasonedlife.net/2011...ng-my-new.html To go with the dressing, we're havin turkey sandwich slices, Sister Schubert's rolls, cranberry sauce, and, so that we'll get our veggies, we'll have a broccoli, califlower, & carrot medley, cabbage, and little sweet peas. TJ will have nanner puddin fer desert. I pass, cause I hate nanners. HAPPY THANKSGIVING YA'LL !!! Last edited by ponyakr; 11-24-2016 at 01:09 PM. |
