Default Gravity Bleeding Brakes

Just finished installing front disc brakes and all lines on my 65 GTO. The right front line didn't fit well (Right Stuff) and I ended up rebending the entire line and buying a 30" line to run from the proportioning valve to the crossmember where the supplied line ended.
Anyway, the lines from the master cylinder to the proporting valve didn't fit right either. I had to massage the inner fender a bit for clearance and loosen the bracket to get them to line up. Needless to say, I don't really want to take them loose now to bench bleed the master cylinder. Can I just fill it with fluid leave the top off, open the wheel valves and let gravity do it's thing or do I need to bite the bullet and bench bleed the master cylinder first?

the master cant be gravity bled, that is only for the lines & calipers etc. a new master absolutely needs to be bench bled the right way. ive had to operate the plunger 50-75 times to get all the little air bubbles to stop. might as well do it right to avoid fighting with the brakes.

You should be able to bleed the master on the car...just remove the lines and run those little plastic lines back into the master and pump until no air bubbles

Are you supposed to make sure the front of the MC is tilted up slightly during this process?

Thanks, I knew you could do the lines but I wasn't sure about the MC.

it wouldn't be a bad idea to try and level the master so no air gets trapped
