Default Street outlaws again

After gladly watching the GTO bring home the big money last Monday I saw where theyre bringing back a new season of New Orleans. Im surprised because people were complaining about it and I prefer to watch the Oklahoma guys but Ill probably end up watching New Orleans anyway.

I just don't like the loud mouthy BS. NO had too much of it so I stopped watching and whenever JJ ran his mouth I'd mute it.
Even the OKC gang gets a little out of hand. It's not necessary to have a good show, adds nothing to the content.

I'm with you 100% here!!!
I've watched it some here and there.
I would not want a child watching it, not something I'd want my kids acting like!!!
All the hype, bravado, and BS, I don't need it.
The first couple of seasons they were racing a couple of miles from my house. It seemed exciting, that kind of a thing going on near me. Glad I was not in attendence at one of their "productions"...

I agree with HO 428. Most of it is just uncalled for but I will watch average racing of most any other tv. Their problem going forward will be finding wys to keep it fresh. Running the same list race gets a little old but I like the shows against other towns.

Maybe Kye Kelly took some acting lessons.

That's what street racing is. It sells products. I don't mind it, I just don't like the poor talk.

I will still watch it. Kinda like a bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work.

Whether it's the OKC guys or the NO crew, all of the trash talk stuff is not what I am used to culturally. It therefore seems absolutely foreign to this Michigan country boy.

Made for TV, Like the racing, hate the Drama. Street racing with lots of rubber down and lights down both sides of the road. Trailers parked in the grass. yeah its real all right... LOL

No kidding. He was brutal. Chief looks fairly natural in front of the camera but everyone on the N.O. show looked like they were being fed lines and performing them poorly.

I wish they would dump all of it and just give me an hour of racing. I could care less whatever shenanigans farm truck is up to. But Im probably in the minority of viewers there.

Ive said before I wonder how many viewers they would lose if the disclaimer at the beginning specifically explained the cirumstances they race in. Its been privately expressed that they are doing the actual racing in a blocked off area. I mean honestly who thinks with all the lights, and crowd that they would go unnoticed? But its almost like pro wrestling, which was at its peak when it was protected and they at least least tried to pretend it was real. If Street Outlaws came out and said that they werent actually in danger of being arrested on race night when the cameras were rolling, would they lose the yokel viewer. Just as a social experiment Im curious.

Did a filmed bit of testing one time on Mrs Orcutt's Driveway in California.
(Gale Banks Firebird Twin Turbo Test Spot). Went to the California Film Commission
and said we want to rent that piece of road for some testing/filming for one of our vehicles. http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/...y/view/google/

The road is 4.1 miles long. see write-up here Page #3 is about the Banks Trans Am deal:
http://www.caranddriver.com/features...el-road-page-1

So the point being if the State Film Commission is making money renting the filming spot, making money for the "Sworn Police Officers" assigned to the filming spot, Making money for the Ambulance Crew in case there is an accident, during filming, then everyone gets what they want. The only people 'in the dark', so to speak, are the people watching the show for the first time who think the stuff is real as far as getting busted by the Police. The filming spot can also be multiple locations like the AZE and Farm Truck Race location (probably same testing location as the Chief and others use).

So it is all a reality show with real race cars/"stunt cars" performing on the "set" and creative Filming/editing as far as starting line slow motion shots, the mid track stuff, and the ("flashlight" finish line /side view who won" camera shots.

No worries about being arrested in "Okey Land" or in Calif during a couple of the shows.

Tom V. Been there done that deal.

Yeah that was roughly how I had heard it explained. Still like I said as a social experiment. I wonder how many viewers they lose if that were the disclaimer at the beginning of the show. Rather than the one that illudes "we are rebel street racers dodging the law. You shouldn't do that"

I agree I could do without the trash talking bs. When the OKC boys say good luck and be safe to their opponent that is much more my style. Farm truck and Azn are funny as hell imo. I wish they would have less drama and more info.

At Gateway we say it the other way around, "Race Safe". It seems to be catching on.
