Here are some photos of my dash pad after it was restored. My original plan was to send it out to Just Dashes but they said their lead time was 12 weeks and the quote was $600 plus shipping.
Luckily I still had a business card from a place called Al Knoch Interiors from their exhibit booth at the Barrett-Jackson auction this past January so I gave them a try. They had a nice looking dash for a 1970 GTO and early 70s Trans Am on display and those looked great so I figured they could easily handle a simple 68 non A/C dash pad from my car. Price was $450 plus shipping and they turned it around in 5 weeks. Not blazing fast but plenty reasonable in my opinion. Quality seems very good. Super happy with the results. Just thought I would share in case anyone else out there was thinking about sending out their dash for restoration and wanted another vendor option. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk |

Would love to see the results but the pictures seem ... well, over large and unusual.
How about some normal sized photos showing before and after. |

Sorry about that....I posted from my phone so I couldn't resize the pictures (or I don't know how to do that from my phone...)

Looking good. Top surface nice, texture nice, color nice enough. Factory core assures it will go on. Looks like you did good.
The fine points for me are those inside corners where i've had the repop skin coating pull away from the corners, especially in the AC Vent openings. The repop i got didn't clip into the dash's AC side vents well at all. |

Pics look fine to me, thanks for sharing. I know Al Knoch does some corvette stuff and heard they were getting into Pontiac dashes but this is the first one I've seen.

![]() For some reason, my cell phone lightens the color when it zooms in. It's really quite dark black in real life. Being a convertible car....I wanted the dash to look as good as possible. Getting ready to paint the metal portion of the dash soon....need to find the correct sheen and black color though.... How is their selection of colors? My 68 has an Ivy Gold interior ... original dash only has one small crack in it ... but the whole thing is scary brittle.
BTW ... link to Al Knoch http://www.alknochinteriors.com/ |

Sent my 69 dash to Al Knoch. Very pleased with the work, turnaround was only 3 weeks. Color was not exact, but I had dye made for console, so I ended up dying the dash too.

Wow thanks very much for the post Purely, Just Dashes has had the market cornered forever, and as mentioned the aftermarket products don't have the best reviews and so seem to lack in quality. If you don't mind when you find the proper color for the top please share it. Seems I'm behind you in this stage, (probably every stage to be honest) so any help would be appreciated.
Thanx again, Frank

I don't have AC in my car. I think I'm going to try to do this myself first anyway. That price was just out of my range for the 1 small crack that I have
