Default 67' Clutch spring and steering nuts.

Does this setup for the clutch return spring look right? It doesn't seem to add anything. The clutch pedal feels the same.

Also,
How tight do you make the nut/washer/steering box shaft pitman arm?

How tight to make the pitman arm to steering center "rack"? Is there just the castle nut or should there be a washer between the nut and the arm?

the original clutch forks have a hole at the very end, which may help clutch pedal return

pitman arm torque is 140 ft lbs, there should be a lock washer under the nut

Hmm. I must have an aftermarket fork. The hole is closer to the trans. Is there supposed to be a rod extension?

How do you tighten the pit an to the rack without the stud spinning?

the shop manual shows the rod extension, but i found that the aftermarket rod extension and spring assembly are too long for the stock clutch fork

ohh, I thought you were talking about pitman arm to steering box. You mean pitman arm to center link? 35 ft lbs for that, uses castle nut and cotter pin. If the stud in the pitman arm is spinning, there is something wrong.

The pitman arm stud has a conical body that will firmly seat into the center draglink hole once you take up all slack and start putting actual torque on the stud.

The long clutch extension rod is for a six cylinder I think.
