Alternator for '67 HO
Does an HO car with no power steering or AC require the 1100700 alternator, which has 55 amps? Or is it the 37 amp 1100704? The great Eric White guide from the GTOAA says the 55 amp only is required for cars with AC.
Thx, RG |

I don't think a 55A would be required for convertibles. The need for the higher amp alternator is due to items that draw a lot of amperage constantly during operation, like AC or rear window defog. A power top does not draw constantly, nor do power windows, seat, or locks.
