Orbit Orange color value over other colors
How much more (if anything) does the color Orbit orange add to the value of a '70 Judge. I'm sure it's not much over some of the colors like blue, red, silver or black. How about some of the other colors?

JMO,I never liked that color in 1970.I would take many colors over it.A friend of mine just sold a 4 speed OO 70 for 80K.A lot of people dont share my opinion.Tom

Sitting amongst other GTOs is a car show does NOT make for "favorite color decisions" and here's why;
When driving on a Sunny day, the OO Judge looks Waaaaay "out of the world" going along the road, a real head- turner with gaping jaw effect. Whether downrage in the rear view mirror, or meeting up at a cross road, the OO Judge has a high shock effect to every male onlooker, and most fertile female onlookers. So there is a +value for the OO Judge amongst 1970Judges. Perhaps 5-10k over ANY light color paint. Probably fair to argue a lesser +value against dark-paint Judges. Not sure that OO holds any value on ANY other car model or Brand, Not even a Dodge. So OO is strongly identified to a 1970 Judge, a Pontiac. I'd prefer to own other color GTOs : Atoll Blue, Starlight Black, Fambeau Burgundy And prefer someone else own the OO color so i can enjoy from a distance. Wasn´t OO added some time into production to aid slow sales?
And Polarwhite code 10 (one year only) the "official" color for 1970 Judge? |

It depends on the year for me. CR in 69 (again, just to me) is worth LESS then other color Judges because most of them were CR. in 70, the OO was pretty uncommon so Id say its even across the board.

The fact is that although I like the odd color Judges better the Orbit cars are more in demand and bring way more money. As for 69 Judges this holds true also. Yes they made alot more in Carousel red but that is the signature color and when you think of a judge you think Orange. That's why they always bring a lot more money at auction.

Back in the 70's I was under the impression that most 70 Judges were Orbit (a repeat of 69 CR). I had that impression because it seemed that most of the ones I saw were that color, in hindsight it was probably because everyone who cloned one painted it OO! btw, cloning back then just meant orange paint and a wing.

Imagine what those 69 CR RA IV 4 speed Judge verts will bring if ever found?
1 of 5 one black, 4 CR and all 4 speeds. That still true? Not sure there is more than 2 OO RAIV Judge Vert in 70. One is a 4 speed and other auto restored I know of...

The OO is a hot color, like H.I.S. said above. If there was a numbers matching OO Judge with black vinyl top and black interior available and in similar condition to my 69 CR/Black vinyl top car, that is probably the one car I would trade for.

Looking through the judgeregistry I see only one OO/blk vinyl top car listed. Are there others? Anyone have pics of original cars?
