I would still get my own PHS, as the window sticker isn't a build sheet as stated in ad. As HfR stated in other thread in SD sticky" looks like a new one" .

The missing expensive SD stuff is also concerning. Few other things like hood pad and trim rings throw me off as to the what else needs addressing...

It is priced as a concours perfect car, and it is definitely not there. That vinyl top is hideous.

My last bird was white on white with a repaint, where original vinyl top was removed. So always wondered what it looked like white, with a white vinyl top. Now that I finally see one, it does look terrible. (!) But I would take an SD with one and suffer.

Not mine either. :-)

Here's something I posted on the SD455 thread:

Now here is something wild: There were 9 Cameo White SD455 Formulas built. 8 autos and 1 four-speed.

The SD455 Registry already has records of the 8 Cameo White automatic SD455 Formulas. This car's VIN is not among them. That makes 9 white automatics of 8 that are recorded to have been produced. (The 1 white 4-speed is not registered in the data base)

Looks like a JW/KR wheel on the R/F..

The ad is horrible and the seller seems clueless. Wonder if the car has its original engine???

The window sticker shown is a PHS reproduction. Formatted incorrectly, missing details, uses the wrong font. Red flags are that the seller did not post the PHS invoice (which he must have since he has one of their window stickers), and I don't see the VIN posted anywhere except on the window sticker.

This is not total proof, since these are easily forged.

I actually like the white vinyl top on a white car! It's very subtle, but still makes an impression.

How much of the SD stuff is missing? The engine photo showed nothing, other than the PCV valve setup was missing.

Correct air cleaner, air cleaner ducting to fender, "hairy hose", hot air riser to air cleaner from manifold shroud, master cylinder, PCV setup, correct A/C pressure lines, A/C compressor wiring harness has been altered with blue crimp on terminal, TCS spark control solenoid, wiring and hoses on intake, shaker block off plate. That's only the stuff I can (or more correctly can't) see in the photos.

It just occurred to be that if the oddball air cleaner is sitting on that carb with the snorkel facing front, then it can't be the original SD455 carb which has that large bowl vent nipple that goes through a specificly located hole in the air cleaner base.

Here's the original photos from my car to compare:

If someone buys it I'd be happy to supply them with the reference photos from my old jalopy.

I was just contacted by one of the guys on the Yenko site who knew the late father of the son who is now selling the car to settle the estate. I asked him to get the son to contact me so maybe we can get some more info and hopefully clear up some questions and help him out.

Steve,

Are your a/c hoses original/correct, or are they replacements?

Mine are all original.

(It's an unrestored, benchmark car. I am happy to provide anyone with photos for their use in restoring their cars. The entire car is 97.54% assembly line original per the Vintage Certification Time Capsule Award from MCACN 2016. It got dinged for missing the original C89 battery and radiator part number tag. The only SD455 that has scored higher was the 1,700 mile 73 SD T/A that was discovered 10 years ago. It beat me by 1/10th of a point.) :-)

BTW, I just spoke with the owner of the SD from the ebay listing. Very nice young man. He will be ordering the PHS package for the car. His Dad passed away and there was so much stuff to deal with he doesn't know what there may be in terms of paperwork/parts etc., but he does believe he has the original carb which is off the car. A replacement was put on to get the car running. He said the car had been repainted many years ago.

Here's the cowl tag. Working on getting the dash VIN
