Default 2nd gen Firebird non-stock paint schemes, pictures of any good ones?

My car is a 71 Firebird Esprit, Lucerne Blue with Tuxedo Interior.
It needs paint, currently is a different shade of blue. It will be a while though,so I have time to plan.

Looking for ideas that are not just one color. The Formula graphics of 77-81 on the lower rocker etc come to mind, as does the 69 Royal Bobcat GTO RAV, as inspirations. I am not looking for a 70's wild custom paint job.
My Google-fu has failed me, maybe y'all can help?
Maybe even a racing livery as inspiration (though not Gulf, wrong for the car) and Lucy blue will likely be the main color.

Since it's an Esprit, I don't feel beholden to not making changes. A Formula hood will be used.

Thanks

Ken

Im not sure that the body lines of these cars justify multiple colours. But, I guess with a good imagination anything is possible. I have seen some people paint the top with the lines of what would've been a vinyl top. I think that looks pretty good. Also something along the lines of a fire am or even across the top like the tata was painted.

This isn't too wild is it?
Yeah, I'm joking but I actually love this paint job.

Gotta love the Tirebird! Nothing cooler than the early 1970's trans am race cars with the minilites!

Default Hmmmm I thought t wasn't easy

Wow, that Z is spectacular.
But... I'm thinking to be a bit more restrained.
I'm sure everyone knows this one, the RAV Royal Bobcat GTO

https://www.streetmusclemag.com/news...gto-ram-air-v/

Anyone know where that car is now? I swear, back in college, it was on display during an SAE Annual Convention or what is now the NAIAS in a somewhat out of the way part of Detroit's Cobo Hall's lobby. This would have been late 80's.

Tire Bird provides a hint of what could be done with the nose, though a Formula hood makes it a little more challenging.

I agree the body lines don't make it easy.

Thanks

None taken, as I loved it like I had it back then too. But, as a 18 year old kid with not a whole bunch of $$$ in the bank. I did all the bodywork myself. engine rebuild, interior.
The sidepipes and headers had to come off for all of that. They leaked terribly and sat very low to the ground running across the subframe. These were Hooker large tube chrome all the way to the head and dumped out into 4" sidemount pipes. There is no other car around that sounded like this. LOL

Did not have the $$$ to buy new, at the time I think they were upwards of $1600.
Hated the fog lamps, they came off the first week it came home.
I also loved the size of the tires and wheels when I first got it.
Your taste changes as you get a little older, but I did stay with the same color and paint scheme across the hood.

Would have been fine Greg, love seeing it - I suppose I should drive it one of these days.

I LOVED the pipes too. Although most of the girls that burned their legs getting out didn't. LOL One girls parents threatened to sue me for the plastic surgery that she was going to have to have to make the burn mark "go away".
No other car sounded as good as that one did. A Pontiac with a nice cam and those sidepipes,..man!!! Wish I had some audio.

Nice. Like the idea of outside the box. and restoring something to drive and modify guilt free instead of a car that belongs in a museum. exactly why I'm "re-producing" a 72 trans am from a base firebird. drive route 66 and race once in awhile. how about that classic 70's scheme I believe farmer Beswick had on "the super judge".
