Has anyone converted a 1969 GTO with a bench seat to bucket seats? Do you have to drill holes or are all floorboards predrilled from the factory?

You need brackets that are specific to bucket seats....can buy them aftermarket but need to be spot welded to floor pans.

The outer brackets are the same with buckets and bench (unless power seats are involved) but as mentioned you need to buy inner floor braces ( used or Repro) that will need to be welded to the floor.

North, bench seats don't use outer brackets, they just mount through the brace on the front bolt just like the back bolt. Buckets put a little perch bracket welded over the top of the hole and plug the threaded insert with sealer underneath it. so he'll need to weld both inner and outer brackets.
The outer rear bolt mounts the same through the floor pan with no add on bracket. |
