I expect to catch a lot of flack for this, but I just can't stand it any more...

Learn the difference between there, their, and they're.
Learn the difference between to, too, and two.
Learn the difference between pedal, peddle, and petal.
Learn the difference between council and console.

The proof is not in the pudding. The proof of the pudding is in the taste.

There. I said it.

My #1 pet peeve is anything for sale WITHOUT an asking price. No price, no further inquiry, I'm out period. EVERYONE knows what they expect to get for anything they are selling.

Who cares! We don’t need grammer police, we’ve had those types here, and I just don’t let that little stuff bother me. No one is perfect. So just ride with it, and don’t let little things like that bother you.

Since we are on the subject, what is with using a phrase like " it needs rebuild" instead of "it needs to be rebuilt" or "it needs rebuilding" or "it needs a rebuild". I see that way too often.

Well yeah, MA, but some of us were taught how to diagram sentences in grammar school not like currently when English is a second language.

I almost forgot......."tack" instead of "tach". I was just looking at a "Camero" on Craigslist over lunch and the author of the ad used "tack" in his description. At least it had new "brakes" and not "breaks". When I see that, I am always tempted to ask what is broken.

Although I completely agree with the OP, I will paraphrase a statement I heard many years ago, 'proper etiquette is knowing not to point out when someone is not using it'.

These threads come up every so often, with similar responses.

I can accept a certain amount of informality for posts on a car web board, but I do agree that in general (both here and everywhere else) the quality of spelling, grammar and syntax keeps getting worse as time goes on. I don't know if it's people being lazy, if it's a side effect of the texting, or if they just aren't teaching these things in school anymore.
