Default Ram air 3

I had Paul Carter do a set of 1969 #48 ram air 3 heads for a ram air 3 engine I'm building for someone.
Another perfect job from Paul as expected. These heads were in pretty bad shape when I received them. The valve seats were hacked up from some other machine shop and we're thrown together with junk parts.
Now they are good as you can get with all new valves, springs, retainets, new hardened seats and new guides.

If they weren't going to be used, they could be hung over the mantle

Give me a call, and I'll come over as a "safety supervisor" on the test drive. I won't even charge for my services!

For those who are interested I just checked the CC on these chambers. They come in at 60 CC

Did they come off a 350 ? They were 65.5 ccs originally. The 400 48s were about 70-71ccs.

Don't know what they came off of but with a clean up mill and new valves and valve seats this is what they are.
Pistons have a 22 cc dish. I will CC the piston at TDC to see what the true volume is

Well i was wrong about the dish on these pistons.
I checked the volume of the piston at TDC in the block.
For those interested
These +.030 dished icon pistons are .010 in the hole and give 15 CC actual volume.
Final compression would be 10.71 : 1
Owner wants to run pump gas so he has to choose a different head option now.

Would it not be far cheaper to make the dish volume bigger in the current pistons?

Head wise I bet the upper layed back wall of the chamber above the spark plug could be machined back to the fire ring of the head gasket if need be to pick up like 4 CCs.
