65 GTO floor pan bracket installs for "conversion" to bucket seats
I have a car (originally bucket) where they replaced the floorpan and installed a bench seat during restoration (grr!), then dealer changed to manual buckets (great!) but they are just bolted through the floor with inner bolts (boo!) and they need to be installed correctly for safety.
I have ordered a pair of the inner brackets coming from Dynacorn: "64-72 GM A-Body Floor Pan Bucket Seat Mounting Brackets Bracket Set" I assume I need to: 1) remove seats 2) pull carpet 3) measure/weld inner brackets to floorpan 4) reinstall carpet 5) properly nut and bolt down the seats. Are there any specific tricks I should be aware of? I have the computer disc of 65 shop manuals but nothing really shows more than removing/installing the seats themselves. Thanks! |

Quick follow-up: project completed. I bought the Ames correct seat brackets and had them installed/welded in, along with my completed console install. Looks like a proper GTO again!
