Body bushings.... is there a difference?
I noticed Ames has a separate parts listing for 70-72 Trans Ams. Most parts places just have a listing for 70-81. Is there a difference, will the ones for the 70-81 work?If they work the same I'll put them in, I had previously bought them for an 81 TA. If they are just a little different looking and "correct" for 71 that does not concern me. Any input?

cant comment on what ames sells, but for the poly body bushings they are listed as different part#s for 70-72 vs later years like 78 or 81. pretty sure the bushings are different sizes for the back of the front subframe &/or the core support for sure.

Fronts are thicker than the rears. Ames knows this.

The holes in the core support are smaller on early cars and have to be opened up to use 70-81 kits.

What gets sold as the kit is for a camaro core support that sits ON TOP of the subframe, and will not work correctly or really at all on the Firebirds.

"There is NO 70-81 Kit.. that is correct anyway."
Agreed ^^^ however there are a lot of aftermarket kits sold as 70-81 Camaro/Firebird that get installed.
