Default 2005 Radio/wiring issue

Hello,

I was wondering if someone could give me some advice. I have a 2005 Chevy Cavalier I was needing some advice with, but I've had limited success on both the Chevy and J-body forums, but since the Cavalier is essentially the same vehicle as the Pontiac Sunfire, I was hoping I might get lucky here. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of what the attached picture of wiring means. The red wiring next to the white one on the little blue harness doesn't seem to go to anything, and the other end runs to the radio housing, but doesn't connect to anything. I only just purchased this car a few months ago, so I still know relatively little about it. I bought it with an aftermarket stereo and replaced it with the factory Delco CD player and after dealer programming, it still doesn't put sound out to the speakers and the chime/bell doesn't work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like someone used a generic T-Tap splice to tap into the headlight switch wiring harness. More than likely they did that to get a lights on signal for whatever aftermarket radio they put in the dash. I absolutely hate when people hack their wiring harnesses to install stuff like that. Especially since the no splice adapter kits are readily available.
