Default Posting Pictures

For us computer "stupid" folks I see threads and responses with the picture imbedded in the message and not as an attachment. How is this done?.....tks...

After you attach a pic, in the insert/editor window, click on the attachment to view the pic/URL. Copy the URL of the pic and then insert the image as you would any other.

I just tried it above.

Upload your pic as you always do in the "Manage Attachments" button. After it uploads, click on the file name next to "Current Attachments." A new window will open with your pic. Copy the url at the top of the screen. Click on the "insert image" (in the same window as your message) and paste the url. Should work.

When I want to post an attachment, I start with clicking on the Go Advanced tab on the Quick Reply box at the bottom of thread.
Type the reply in the body of the Reply to Thread box and scroll down to the Additional Options box and click on Manage Attachments tab. Click on the Browse tab and find the picture from your computer then Upload tab when attachment is found and loaded. Repeat as necessary until the limit of attachments are reached. Click on the attachment you want to show in the body of message and have it open in a new window. Copy the address and click the Insert image box. Click on the Submit Reply tab and be done.

Where is it?

Last picture I posted, second icon from the end, has it highlighted. Hovering your pointer over icons will show what it does too. Or, just type "" (no quote marks nor spaces between them).

It's the yellow folder icon at the top that "Held for Ransom" showed.
You copy the link from your photo (wherever it is) and put it in there.

I'm not getting that option anyplace. I'm either doing something wrong or this old computer with Windows 7 isn't allowing it......

Cliff, I use a free image hosting site to upload the picture to. This is the one I use;

https://imgbb.com/.

Then you find the embedded image code from the site by clicking on the image. Copy and paste the code onto PY, done. I've been doing it this way for at least a decade. I'm not particularly computer savvy either, but I figured it out. I was likely using windows 7 back then too. My pictures don't come out 90 degrees off either, like many others do when they post them, using that process.

Here's an example of what it looks like using that process:

I previously used Photobucket to host my pictures, but they restructured, and started charging for their service, so I switched to IMGBB to host my pictures.

Here's one of your pictures hosted on ImgBB:

I've had that layout on other sites and used it to attach photo's but I've never had that appear on this one....wonder why?......

The insert image button simply 'wraps' the image address in tags. If you don't have the button you can do the same thing yourself by just typing the tags and address in the message body;

''

No single quotes obviously.
