Default 1969 Reproduction Fenders

Any advice on which reproduction front fenders fit the best? Dynacorn, GoldStar, AMD etc. Thanks

There are not going to be multiple die sets & stampings of the '69 Firebird fenders. believe Goodmark was the one that tooled up & had the '69 Firebird fenders reproduced, that was at least 15 years ago.

On the reproduction '68 GTO hood, (marketed as '68-70) the repro hood that has been sold near 25 years. It was tooled up & manufactured & distributed by Goodmark. Know for a fact over the last few years, that particular hood has been stamped out in X quantity then boxed up in so many Goodmark wrappers. Then the same produced hoods were boxed & put in wrappers/ boxes. Exact same hood, a friend in the industry was over in Taiwan & saw that with his own eyes.

On Goldstar, have not seen that marketing bunch offering '69 Firebird fenders. If they are, you can bet they are not stamped on dies they produced. My exposure to Goldstar is limited to their crappy 3 piece trunk pans & a few partial floor pans. use at your own risk, those pieces were poor in my experience, & personally won't use them.

AMD has not spent much money developing specific Pontiac muscle era pieces.
Most everything AMD has had dies made for & stamped out panels for are Mopar original era muscle cars, & Chevrolet products. Near 6 years ago, AMD did have the dies made & had the first runs of '64-65 GTO 1/4 panels made. Jerry Heasley (RIP) used to post here on PY, & detailed a LOT about the mfg of the AMD '64-65 GTO full 1/4 panels. Believe those panels are the only specific Pontiac panels that AMD has mfg for Pontiac A & F-body's. Also, if my reading comprehension is dead on, the dies/right to those dies was sold by AMD to Joe @ The PartsPlace. If you look at AMD's website, there is a symbol that notes when a reproduction steel panel is not theirs.

Good luck, if the vehicle is something special, personally I'd search for nice used '69 Bird fenders.

what I tried to note in above 2nd paragraph (and in editing deleted part of it) is X amount of new Goodmark '68 GTO hoods were mfg , then put in Goodmark wrappers. Directly afterwards, another X amount of same newly mfg GTO hoods were put in DynaCorn wrappers/boxs. Not sure how much of that goes on, some reproduction stampings are exclusively packaged & sold by only one brand/interest.

While not the fenders, but the quarters for 69 Firebird, when I went shopping, I went to Year One. Counterman been there forever, Brian, I think, took me back to the warehouse and we pulled 69 convertible quarters. They were horribly wrong at the fender lip transition in front of the wheel opening. What was baffling (to me), they had a complete 69 Camaro convertible body shell on display that had the correct fender lip.

It was mentioned by Brian that those particular quarters were supplied by at least 2 manufacturers depending on availability. I think he said "Johnnie Lee" in Taiwan or China was one manufacturer or supplier. I believe somebody at the NPD Ocala FL said something similar on the phone, but I didn't get eyes/hands on their stuff to see for myself. (I was there a few weeks later to pick up a tail panel, but was never invited back to the warehouse.)

So I wandered a few miles up the road to AMD and the quarters they stocked were exactly correct, so I bought them, plus the rear deck, the inner and outer wheelhouses and the inner supports. Not related, but I later went back and bought the complete trunk pan.

When I get back home I'll check the boxes for those codes Roger mentioned.

First photo, the one I saw at Year One. Second photo, the Camaro convertible reproduction shell quarter close-up.

Thanks for the replies! Bottom line is that the repros that are out there are just not that good and try to find good used. OK let me see what I can find.

Too bad you are not located near New Jersey. I have 2 sets in my rear garage that need some, not a lot, of work and have a set of lower rear patch panels for them as well. Not looking for too much $$$ at all, I'm just clearing the garage out and do not want to ship. They were left over from my 69 convert resto done years ago.
