Solid lifter Q
Can you use Chevy solid lifters in a 400 Pontiac with a SFT cam? Any reason you can't?

For awhile in the 80s you could not get a Pontiac solid lifter. So I ran Chevy solids with a longer pushrod. I did not have any issues with them.

Its not just a push rod lenght issue, sometimes being able to use them in a Pontiac depends on the base circle diameter of your Cam .
If the oil band drops out below the bottom of the lifter Bore then it's by by lifter Bore once you start the motor or soon after.
