Transmission ID
I have pulled the 3 speed transmission from my 71 GT-37. I was expecting a HD Muncie but instead it's a Saginaw. I know it's original because partial VIN is stamped on the side (VIN is 233371P160219). Also it has 1 ring on input shaft.
Does anyone know how I can determine the 1st and 2nd gear artios on this transmission? PS: engine is 250 HP 350 |

Sure, spin the input shaft when in each gear and count the rotations of the output shaft.

Should be 2.54 - 1st and 1.50 for 2nd gear. (2.63 - reverse)
