Default Gauge Cluster Year/ID help?

Hey all, I'm going to look at a gauge cluster tonight. I think k it is early 70s, but I can't find any definitive identification for the differences on these. The cluster I'm looking at has the following:

8k tach

160 Speedo

Brake Light only on speedo, no seat belt light that I can see.

260 degree max water temp gauge. ( all the others in my research are 250 degree max)

Yellow on tach starts at 5250 rpm, redline starts at 5750rpm.

Connector on printed circuit looks to have 12 contacts.

What is this? 1970 possibly? A frankenstein? What are some other identifiers I can check? What's a fair price? I'll try to get a pic, but no guarantee before I go to see it.

Color of clock knob. Black was 70- part of 71. That should nail it down enough

Wow!, never have seen it on a 72, but we did a tach on a 72 at end of its warranty and we were sent one with a black knob.. on the clock.

based on the speedo alone, it sounds like a 70-72.5 cluster.

there were two style black clock knobs, but that's getting into the minutia...

iirc the 70-72.5 used the smaller plug in the back.

now, if it's a hodge-podge, all bets are off.

look on the back of the housing to see if an early speedo was swapped in place of a later one.

Tachs (contrary to reproduction literature) were 8krpm through to 1976;
As of 1977, the limit reduced.
The 1970 tachs only have a single male connector - starting in 1971 there are two - because starting in 1971 you could get the 'unitized' distributor (precursor to the HEI that Pontiacs received in 1975).

There should normally be a printed (ink stamped) date on the circuit board.

The combination water temp & oil pressure gauge changed after 1972 iirc, but they are a direct replacement;
early ones had a temp reading @ 12=o'clock of 210 degree, the later ones were 220 degrees.

I hope that something here helped!!
