Since Monday, we have had some incredibly cool and dry weather for mid August. Normally, we would have highs in the upper 80s and low 90s coupled with near tropical humidity( 80-90%). Our high yesterday was 77; our high today was 75. Tomorrow’s predicted high? 79. Our humidity has been in the low to mid 50% range. This reminds me of the mid to late August weather we saw when we lived along Lake Michigan in SE Wisconsin. The heat will return next week, but what’s glorious respite for a few days.

Yes indeed, and begins to make up for all the rain since Jan 1.

The mini bonfire of sticks last night burnt completely to ash. I shovel the ash into a big can to spread on the garden in January.

Same here in SW Virginia… We spent last week in HiltonHead w/ heat index 100-110 deg… now home,& we’re cold… lol…. 39deg yesterday morning,& 47 this morning….

Weather has been outstanding over the last few days here in NC. 51 degrees this morning and will be heating up to the upper 70's later. Sure beats the typical upper 90's at this time of year!

Yea, this has been a good week in the Hoser state. Next week however, back to the mid 90s! Oh boy!

It's been a more pleasant 105° in the shop. For a while I was closing up an hour early. Once the fan is blowing hot air on you it's a loosing predicament.... and the humidity has dropped.

Ha! I thought these responses were to the original thread where I was enjoying a lovely evening at US 131 motorsports Park in Martin Michigan.

For this thread its a beautiful night at Summit Raceway Park in Norwalk Ohio. Starting to see some color in the trees back home.

I'll expect another thread in a month when I am in Indy!

Nice here too. Cool mornings warm afternoons low humidity. Latrobe having their yearly celebration of the Birthplace of the Banana Split. Started last night kids night out,all through the weekend. I just woke up with a sore throat! Not sure might be sinuses draining ugh.

Bob, mine have been flowing like a waterfall most of the summer. I think it’s time for a referral to an allergist, since my OTC allergy medicines have just about stopped working, AGAIN.

Me, the wife and the dog went up on the hill by the ginormous sweetgum tree tonight about 10pm. My first time out back on the property at night. Beautiful 76 degrees.

Sitting there on the quad looking at the stars and got off to investigate a strange crying screeching sound I kept hearing. Over here, over there, over here ... kept changing location. I'm looking on the ground .. asked the wife for the big spot light, pointed it up towards the tree in time to catch what appeared to be a very large owl gliding over our heads ... research shows the call to have been a Barn Owl. Was quite dramatic seeing it in the spotlight about 15 feet over our heads gliding in absolute silence. Glided over to another tree about 300 feet away.

That’s pretty cool. We have barred owls here where I live. About the same size as a great horned owl. I had one swoop over me at night once. From behind. Startled the hell out of me. Impressive and scary all at the same time.

Weather here in Southern Ohio has been extremely mild this summer. Humidity lower than normal as well. Still cutting green grass in late August every 6-8 days. Next Wednesday they predict the hottest day of 2024 for us in this area, 95 degrees. It's been in the high 70's and low 80's for the last 10 days. Perfect summer weather.
