The cowl tag stuff never matches the VIN.
The body number is for the body. The rivets look good to me?

Oh ok - how can you tell if she has been rebodied then?
Also, is it a white with black interior 455HO car based on what you see here? Thanks!

Norwood cars had 22387 (base bird) on their tags, while Van Nuys cars had their actual trim on the tags, 22387, 22487, 22687 and 22887.
Looking at the tag, it's a 2nd week December build in 1971 for the 1972 model year. Cameo White with black deluxe interior, built in Norwood.

I'd say if car was suspect it would be the VIN tagged changed?
With the PHS for the VIN of the car, you would compare the PHS stuff to what is on the cowl tag. With the date on the cowl tag it should be in the range of the PHS date. Quite a few things to tell if it had one or the other modified.

Since no one responded.
The WS4 indicates a Trans Am, so 455HO would be standard engine. And 216 would be standard black interior, wouldn't it?

206 would indicate standard black interior.
As its a 12B body build, & could have spent a little extra time in the body bank @ Norwalk would be interesting to know if it has characteristics of being an early production '72 or late production '72 TransAm. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=875305

I thought 226 was custom interior.
https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com....php?p=5205503 shows 216 as standard interior.

I assumed all 70-72's were the same colour and just re-used Polar White. Didn't know that about the rivets either, my '71 doesn't have the putty in them so never picked up on that or saw those on other examples
