1969 Trans Am on Bring A Trailer
Does anyone here know anything on the history of the 69 Trans Am that was BAT recently? It has AC and a 12 bolt rear added to it. I am trying to trade for the car as I want it for a cruise night car, not a museum piece. I have several frame off cars that are just too nice to drive. The !969 Trans Am FB page had a thread on it and said it was talked about on PY in 2009. I have not been able to find anything on it here. Any information is greatly appreciated.

A quick look at the block stamping makes me wonder right off the bat. They are perfect.

Do you think it is a restamp? With all due respect, why would you want a clone over this car? I owned a 69 Trans Am Convertible clone for years. I like the hood tach and I think whoever restored this car did it the way they would want it, with a hood tach, AC, and a 12 bolt rear end. I have read all of the comments on BAT, tough crowd on there! I have been in the muscle car hobby since the early 80s and I have seen cars put together from several cars that magically turned into one owner 30,000 mile cars. Lol! My point is this a nice rust free car that I can own for half the price of a Mecum type car that does 150K. I have seen more GTO Judges built around a vin and data plate than anything. I just thought someone on this forum might know where the car was built. It was in a private collection and hasn’t been driven since 2011. I am approaching 60 years old and I don’t like working on them like I used to and I always wanted a 69 Trans Am. Face it, these cars were used and abused, most cars out there are rebodied, restamped, or are full of reproduction sheet metal. I own a frame off restored matching numbers 69 Judge that is too nice to drive, I want to drive this one.

If this car sat since 2011 and you don't like working on them..... Uhm....
I'd look elsewhere. And why a hood tach is just wrong is -if- that was a $10k+ genuine Trans Am hood it is ruined with a tach hole drilled in to it. Get a fresh built clone for ~$50k and enjoy that since you already have #1 cars. |

Car doesn’t need any work done on it mechanically. It was in a collection. All high performance Pontiacs from 1967 to 1972 need a hood tach. Do you think it needs to be sent to the crusher because it has a non original hood tach?

Thanks Tom. I have owned over 100 muscle cars and C10s. I currently have a little over 40 . I wanted to get down to about 16 cars. I can trade 3 cars for it. I love my frame off cars but don’t want to drive them. I want to put a set of vintage American mags on it and a white hurst 4 speed shifter ball on it and drive the **** out of it.

What price? $75k? Haven't heard a number.
Anything not driven for nearly 15 years will likely need seals, brake hoses, carb rebuilt, etc *1969 used a black shifter ball �� But if this Trans Am is supposedly a rebody and all, I always prefer an unmolested car - be it it a clone or genuine over a hacked or rusted slapped together car. 65madgoat, thanks for the replies, I am looking for any history on the car. As far as working on a car, light maintenance such as brake hoses and putting a kit in the carb is no problem. I don’t want to get into putting in floor pans or rebuilding an engine. I like this car and that is all that.matters to me.but I would like to know the back story on it. The guy that owns now is a friend of mine that is in the car business but he mostly deals in Corvettes. The 69 Trans Ams out there for sale that needs restored are priced at 60-90K.
