Default Nice Picture

Even though I just snapped this pic last summer with my phone not giving it a thought when I just saw it today for the first time on a big screen I realized just how nice it came out. By some accident of angle, light and distance I think it really captures just how nice the 68-69 GTO was styled. It looks so small and lean, almost like a sports car, hard to imagine a young family of five could go on vacation in a car like this.

I bought it almost 18 years ago but due to my convertible bias it doesn't get much use. I think I bought it because of the similarity to the RAIV car (even though this one is just a base engine) of the same color in all the factory brochures and videos.

Agree, you caught great lighting to show off those iconic coke bottle lines!

I'm not sure why they felt the need to restyle these cars every year or two. Honestly, they could have stopped here IMO and built them forever.

Similar view of another car from last year, also got good lighting for Carousel Red. The slight uphill slant of the driveway adds to the already perky pose these cars had.

I'm honestly not a Judge guy but the stripe does highlight the natural pouncing cat line of the upper body. These two pics highlight why I'm so harda** about factory ride height is that the top of the door where it meets the glass is designed to taper down towards the rear giving the car that coke bottle or above-mentioned cat stance. The minute you raise the rear even an inch you make the top of the door look horizontal and you lose the intended shape and look

I'm also no fan of spoilers but got to say that the 69 wing was done artfully. Whomever was the guy who decided to lower and taper down the final wing design (as opposed to the taller and horizontal shape of the original (similar to the look of the 69 TA wing) deserves a beer and a medal!

I think for 69, the stripe and spoiler enhanced the body shape and looks.

Funny because I have a 40 year obsession with getting ride height and exhaust fitment bang on. Some guys care about hose clamp date codes and numbers on carbs, for me it’s stance and pipes ;-)

Nice photo and lighting that really shows off the lines. I have always liked the profile of the 1969 be it a hardtop or convertible. Its been my favorite year since I was a teenager.

Same angle of a convertible, they are also very nice but the lines are not as perfect as the hardtop!

Limelight green is a good color to highlight all the negative surfaces on the lower body. GM styling really worked the details back then.
