Default Snow in the South Today

Here's pics of Talladega AL this morning. At least 4" of snow. Not a normal thing here.
Post your pics.

We got around 4 or 5 inches here in southern Oklahoma. The 4x4's are getting a small workout.

I await the incoming pics of cars flipped over and on fire on the highway.

I live south-west of Raleigh. The weather event started around 5PM. It started out as very tiny snow flakes mixed with sleet, but has turned into a very fine mist of snow. It's sticking to grass, but the roads are just wet (for now). Temperatures just dropped below freezing about 30 minutes ago. The weather forecast shows us on the line between 1" accumulation of snow/sleet/freezing rain. Just a little further north the forecast is for 1 - 3" of mixed (sleet, snow, freezing rain). The further northwest you go, the more it is expected to be a snow event. We get mush.

wow!

I was quite surprised to read this - and I looked into the storm area;
One link (specific to the Greenville SC area) suggested that nothing has been seen like this in three years - does that sound about right?

Hey Poncho-Mike.
I’m north of you in Wake Forest. About the same thing here. Glad to see it leaving today. Do you do any shows or cruise ins around Raleigh? I’ll look you up.

Hi there Poncho -Mike and PonchoHO-Jim,
I'm North West of y'all up the road in Rougemont . Got a couple inches of snow last night. Thin on the ground. The New years Day cars and coffee in Garner was well represented by Pontiac... 64s,67s and so forth!

A little north west of Wake Forest, NC. I probably only saw 1/2" of snow but was covered with a layer of ice. Did end up with a power failure for a couple hours. For whatever reason, snow and ice always seems to hang around my property longer than anywhere else.

Starting to get back to normal here in AL.

This is not normal around here.
I agree the snow miser got control of the south this time.
Hope everyone is ok and gets back to normal.

Little south of Raleigh on Wake/Johnston Cty border. No real snow...just sleet and freezing rain.

I was working in Muscle Shoals, and it was funny to hear peoples excuses of why they couldn't come to work before the storm even hit. The 3 of us were from PA and not the least bit worried, plus we hear the "Your area will get XX" of snow" all the time but rarely do. They only got 3-4" of wet snow, we got to work, 3 hours later they said the state was shutting roads down, so we left on roads better than the ones we drove in on. The rain and plow trucks(that one guy said they didn't have)had the roads cleared by the time it was dark.
