I bought this motor to go in a 1967 GTO that I was going to rebuild, but time got away from me and I decided to let the car go to someone who didn't have to juggle a ranch, grandchildren and other interests. I'm a little crazy when it comes to originality and when I bought the motor one of the things that attracted me to it was that it was an original bore motor. With the 30 over boring that Duffin did this motor should last for many, many years.
After deciding that I just didn't have the time to do another car, the car was sold and now it is the time to get rid of the parts that I collected to do a solid and original rebuild. I will be putting some other very nice parts up for sale soon. This motor consists of a 9786133 block with the YS stamp (automatic transmission), dated November 16, 1966. Heads are the GTO #670 heads cast on November 10, 1966. Included is the very hard to find 7027262 Rochester Quadrajet for the automatic GTO. The carb is very clean but has not been rebuilt. This carburetor in this condition alone is worth over $1000. The water pump is a 67 GTO original. The distributor is #1111250, the correct part number for the 67 GTO. The air cleaner is an original and is in great shape with few wear marks and no rust. The valve covers are reproductions, but are well chromed and look great, probably better than the originals did back in 1967. All linkage, vacuum lines, etc. are present and all are original. Inside the motor are new pistons, rings and bearings and a full windage tray. The heads were totally re-worked and the seals that were installed allow the use of unleaded fuel with no issues. Duffin also put a very mild cam in the rebuild but it shouldn't, according to them, be enough to notice any change in the car's idle. The fuel pump is new and is included. The only gaskets that have been cemented into place is the valley pan. I put the other gaskets in place but did not glue them so that a buyer would have the gaskets, but could take the parts off if so desired. I should've left the valley pan the same way so the internals could be inspected but a valley pan gasket is cheap and easily installed if a buyer desires to have a peek inside. Same goes for the head gaskets, although they're aren't quite as cheap. Other than the gluing of the gaskets, installing spark plug wires and a thermostat, and filling with oil, this motor is ready to go. If you're an originality guy like I am, this motor is a rare find. I really hate parting with all of this, as I think the 67 GTO was the prettiest car ever made, but I've got a 64 GTO convertible that I spent 12 years restoring and I just don't have the time to do another one like I know I would want to do. I put local pickup only on this listing but I am willing to ship it if necessary. I can also deliver the motor within 200 miles of Fredericksburg, Texas, which includes Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston.
