I just received a set of "correct" intake manifold bolts from Ames for a 1969 stock standard GTO. The bolt kit below has 4 black bolts and 6 silver bolts with integrated thick washer type flanges on them. My stock manifold had 10 bolts that were all exactly like the 4 black ones. Wondering if the "correct" kit is wrong? Where would the 4 black bolts go if the kit is correct? Anyone know? Thanks for your insight.

Thanks. The AMK bolts look exactly like what I removed from the car. I don't understand the Ames bolts that they sent me. Can't figure out why they have the 6 thick flange silver and 4 thin flange black combination. I think I'll order the AMK kit.

Just remember that there is a $30 minimum order. So maybe take the time to look for other fasteners that need replacing.

Strictly from memory, most of the untouched intakes I've removed over the years had the studded 3, sometimes 4 bolts in the first 2 holes on each head. Two on the passenger side for holding A/C dipstick brace/bracket. On the drivers side there was at least one and sometimes 2 studded bolts. I think one maybe attached to a tin wire loom behind the alternator.

The studded bolts were present even if the car was non A/C equipped. The shorter flange headed bolts were used where they didn't hold throttle brackets the slightly longer bolts held the throttle cable bracket at the rear of the drivers side head.

All from memory, but that's what I recall having turned wrenches on these cars when they were less than 10 years old, and daily drivers.
