Is there a specified clearance needed for the brake pedal pushrod and the piston in the master cylinder for manual brakes? The car is a 66 Lemans with aftermarket 2 reservoir master cylinder.

I set the clearance by "feel". Make sure you're in the upper hole on the pedal. Extend the push rod until there is no longer any clearance, then shorten it by 1/2 turn, lock the jam nut and call it good. If you were running power assist brakes is when you would use the lower hole in the pedal.

It turns out my brake pedal return spring is missing. Gotta find a source for one. Searching the Ames website by keyword is worthless.

I emailed Ames and was advised it doesn’t use a spring. I see the hole for it and it has the little tab on the clevis pin. I think I e seen a diagram showing it.

Thank you - that is great. May have to source an off the shelf spring.
