Default Chrome or Stainless

On a 66 2+2 convertible. Is the trim that wraps the windshield frame chrome or stainless. I know the trim around the glass is stainless. But the header trim across the top that the top mates with is in question. I can't seem to decide if it is chrome or stainless.

Could you test it with a magnet? I think 304 stainless will not stick to a magnet and if it is a kind of stainless that is magnetic, the pull will be very weak compared to chrome plated steel.

Well after looking at the pieces more carefully, I think they are stainless. No rust on the back side either. Tried the magnet trick you suggested. The vertical (side) pieces it didn't stick at all. The piece across the top it did. It also stuck to all the reveal pieces around the glass.

I'll try buffing the back side first to see what it does and go from there.

The pieces buffed up nice. Put them on the car over the weekend. New glass in 2 wks.
