Question Replacement oil pressure switch above 6 psi

I'm trying to find a replacement oil pressure switch that turns the OIL light on when the oil pressure drops higher than ~6 psi, which seems to be what the stock switch does.

It seems to me, but the time you reach 6 psi at WOT you are on the verge of it being too late? Even 10 psi would be better as it would be nice to have the warning light come on sooner.

This replacement at Napa says 2-6 psi, Part #: ECH OP6613

Thanks!

I came up with this splitter to allow me to use my oil pressure gauge via the copper line as well as the oil pressure switch which goes to the OIL light in the dash.

However, it's hard to test if the oil light comes on given that the psi range is so low at 2-6 psi. I tried lowering the idle, but the light never flickers and the bulb is good. If I had a switch that is at ~10 psi or a bit higher, I could probably test it better.

My memory could be off but I believe GM used a 10-15 PSI switch on late 70 or early 80 trucks for some reason. I bought one for a standby generator project I built in order to monitor oil pressure for automatic shutdown. It was 1/8NPT like typical sensors.

Thanks for the tip! I did some searching on Napa for late 70's early 80's GMC 1 ton trucks and the closest I could find was 2-7 psi, 1/8 x 27 in. NPT - $18.99. 7 psi is better, but I can't seem to find any GM trucks from that era that have higher psi ratings. Part #: MPE OP6619SB
