That is a very cool car and backstory.
Gramps was a member on here for a little while pre-restoration of the car. Then after resto he gloated just a little too much and left in disgust. It's a really great car and should cash out at around 500k. How many RPMs would you have to turn to hit 140mph with 3.55 gears and F70x14" tires ? Well over 6,000 I'm guessing. |

Around 6500 RPM.
Long and smooth road could make it there? (at least once maybe )

I don’t think I would have wanted to have been a passenger in that car.

It wouldn't pull that RPM even in neutral or park. Cool that he ordered it new and held on to it , and re-invested in a full frame off resto. It's a great great car with a sweet color package. |

Probably true. I was thinking more of my SD 455. (never had a 455 HO engine)

no chance this car could have 3.07 gears ? 140 mph would be more realistic with 3.07 gears and G70x14 tires.

Think it would have to be Auto AC , or Auto with Economy Axle , to get 3.07 axle.
Neither of those on the Invoice. 3.55 was standard in 71 Judge , Auto or Manual. Top speed around 118-120mph 140mph speedo in a 71 Old campfire stories about burying speedometers in cars for extra clout. 068 cam with stock valve springs is like a built-in rev limiter. |
