Brian Wilson
Just heard the news of his passing. I'm sure that there will be lots of tributes. I'm glad that I got to see him a while ago.

Lennon/McCartney were in awe of Brian Wilson's work. Pet Sounds affected their songwriting afterwards.
Surfin' Safari in 1963 was one of the first (if not the first) record albums I ever bought. Prayers for the family and for Brian.

Incredible legacy. Even 60 years later, his work still stands as some of the most lush and harmonic soundscapes created.
I've always thought Pet Sounds and Smiley Smile were interesting albums side by side. One is the peak of his creativity and the other is the fallout of the pressure he put on himself to deliver something even greater.

He was great live, right up to near the end of his life. My wife and I saw him about 5 years ago in a 3500 seat amphitheater. Fantastic show. He was still such a perfectionist. Best friend of mine lived across the street from the venue. He said Brian worked on the set and the sound check for over 3 hours before the show. RIP, one of the greatest pop/rock artists and producers ever.

I saw the Beach Boys perform at the Ohio State Fair in 1982. Brian introduced the band and performed . One of the best shows I have ever attended. I wore out 3 8 tracks of Endless Summer.
A musical genius and he will be missed.

Been to see their concerts at least 8 times, first was in 1983.

The very first live concert I attended was The Beach Boys in 1976. I was 6 and I had been listening to my parents records for a few years. The BB 45’s were on the orange and yellow Capital Records label
