Default 1971-3 Exhaust tips (extensions)

Picked up a set thinking they were OE 1974, but PN says 1971-3.

Did they have a paint line from the factory or were they painted when painting over rust?
My 1973 doesn't have anything there.

No paint line, exhaust was installed after all pairing was completed.

I was thinking about when the dealership got it and repainted the underside because of rust showing. Could have been undercoating too, but I think not. Also, it looked like paint on the tip that would have been inserted into the tailpipe.

I'd say dealership too, not factory.

is that maybe from the car getting undercoated way back when?
