Default 1967 Qjet baseplate on 1968 carb

I have a 1968 7028267 Quadrajet with the wrong baseplate. I was digging around in some spare qjet parts and found a 7033616 1967 Pontiac baseplate. Does anyone know if this baseplate will work on my 1968 carb?

It will work, but youŽll get full manifold vacuum to the distributor vacuum advance via the port above drivers side mixture screw.

For 1968 this port was timed by the throttle blade.

Yup that's for sure a 67 base plate with all that Exh carbon build up from a failed / burned up Carb gasket as was so common

Be sure to check how much the primary throttle shaft rocks around is all that carbon tends to really ware out the throttle plate where the shaft goes thru.
