I found a couple defects in my front suspension on my 69 firebird. So I decided to replace the center link, idler arm, all tie rods, and of course the adjusting sleeves. This is literally the only part I have never touched in 36 years of owning the car. This is an occasional drag car, it runs high 11's and street driven 1000 miles a year. Nothing too crazy. Should I be thinking of anything else other than stock components from Ames? Seems my choices are very limited with a 69. Anyone have any recommendations?

For stock replacement you will likely new RARE parts suspension pieces which AMES just may sell.

Stock components would be what I would use. The 69 center link is unique and I don't know that it's readily available. If you can't rebuild the center link, you can consider swapping everything to the 69 Camaro parts. You have to do everything to make that work.

If you're rebuilding the steering, you should also plan on a steering box overhaul or replacement and now is also a good time to replace your rag joint.

Thank you, not going Camaro for sure. I did do the box and joint a few years ago.

I have found some of their parts that are noted out of stock actually in stock at Jegs and other places so might have to look around....

I would look at the bushings to the a arms. But none of it will make a bigger difference than what you’ve already done.

I’ll die on the hill that rebuilding the front suspension/steering linkage and getting a professional front end alignment in old cars is the biggest game changer in terms of making a fun driver.
