I am new to the forum, so please forgive me if this topic has been covered.
I have been looking at a '76 Trans Am for sale online. I sent the dealership a request for pictures of the floor pans, subframe connections, cowl tag, engine stampings, and VIN plate, etc.
This is a non T-top car. The pictures of the VIN plate on this seemingly beautiful Cameo White 455, 4 speed car with white seats and Firethorn Red carpet and dash has what is clearly rust on various spots on the VIN plate.
I know this is indicative of rusty A pillars on the T - top cars. Is this potentially the same issue on coupe cars as well?
I have not yet decoded the VIN, Cowl Tag, and Engine stamps. I kind of stopped at the rusty VIN plate, and the salesman asking what an A pillar was, while assuring me the car has never seen winter before. Ha!!!
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Update on my question. I texted back and forth today with the salesperson from the dealership. I mentioned the rust on the VIN plate as well as the bubbling of the surrounding paint. They are in Quebec. He assured me that was just the paint peeling and that the car has never seen a winter. Again, they are in Canada. Ha!
